Sony has scheduled a press conference in New York for the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 20, at which it's expected to unveil the PlayStation 4, according the The Associated Press (AP).
Asked about the nature of the February conference, a Sony spokesperson told the AP that the company “will deliver and speak about the future PlayStation business."
Industry analysts suggest that the decision to launch of new Playstation this month would be a preemptive strike against Microsoft, which is expected to debut its next Xbox game console in June at the E3 video game conference in Los Angeles.
